No, never. NumberBroom is 100% pay-as-you-go. You pay $0.20 per number processed when you run a job (small lists pay a $5 minimum instead). There are no monthly fees, no annual contracts, and no seat licenses. You can run one job in January and not run another until July and you will not be charged anything in between.

$5. There is no minimum row count -- you can scrub a single phone number if you want -- but anything up to 25 numbers is billed a flat $5 rather than pricing out to a few cents. Above 25 numbers you pay $0.20 each through 2,000 rows, then $0.16, then $0.08 past 5,000, graduated so each row is priced in its own band. 10,000 rows is the largest job priced automatically; see below for larger volumes. The free preview lets you scrub 20 rows with no credit card required so you can see the output format before committing.

Payment is handled through Stripe checkout. When you upload a list, NumberBroom calculates the exact cost from your row count -- $0.20 each through 2,000 rows, less above that, or the $5 minimum -- then routes you through a Stripe payment session. After payment confirms, processing begins automatically. Results are available in your dashboard as a downloadable CSV.

Not for a number we checked. You pay for each row whose phone column holds a recognizable phone number, and finding out that a number is invalid, disconnected or a known litigator is the check itself, so those rows are billed even though they are removed from your file. A row with no recognizable phone number is never billed. Three things are refunded to your card automatically once the job completes: a row our providers return no result for after retries, which is left out of your file; a Business Line Lookup contact that returns no result; and a Scrub + Grade row whose grade did not come back, which is delivered with blank grade fields and billed at the scrub rate instead. Section 9 of the terms says the same.

The $0.20 scrub answers a risk question: is this number live, what kind of line is it, and is it a known TCPA litigator? It does not check consent; the federal Do Not Call Registry check is separate, under your own FTC SAN on lists of up to 1,000 numbers. Scrub + Grade answers a different one: is this lead real and worth calling? It grades every contact A–F on how contactable the phone is, whether the name on the lead actually belongs to that phone, and -- if your list has emails -- whether the email is deliverable and matches the same person. It is aimed at lists you bought or inherited rather than lists you generated yourself. If you paid $5 to $50 a lead, $0.55 to find out which ones are fake before your team burns a day dialing them is the cheapest part of the transaction. If you generated the list yourself and already trust the names, the standard scrub is the right product.

Yes. A name is required -- the grade is largely a judgement about whether the name, phone and email describe the same real person, and there is nothing to check a phone number against on its own. When you upload a list you pick the name column the same way you pick the phone column. An email column is optional and adds the email grade and deliverability check. If your file is a bare column of phone numbers, Scrub + Grade is not available on it and the standard $0.20 scrub is what you want.

Instead of. $0.55 per number is the whole price and it includes the full scrub -- carrier validation, the TCPA litigator check and the activity score -- plus the grading columns. You are never billed both rates for the same row. The $5 job minimum works the same way, so a list of 9 rows or fewer costs $5 either way.

Yes. Choose Litigators only when you upload a list and only known TCPA litigators are removed. Landlines, VoIP and disconnected numbers stay in the file with line type, carrier and activity score appended. It costs the same as the full scrub, $0.20 per number with a $5 minimum, because it runs the same lookup. It is not the right choice for SMS, which needs a mobile-only list. Upload a list with litigators only selected.

Yes, the federal National Do Not Call Registry, under your own FTC subscription. Link your Subscription Account Number (SAN) in Settings, and every paid list of up to 1,000 numbers is checked at no extra charge: numbers on the Registry are removed and your file gets a dnc_federal column. The FTC requires the check to run under your own subscription, so you pay the FTC directly for your area codes (the first five are free). We confirm each SAN with the FTC by hand before the first check, and the upload card tells you before you pay whether a list will be checked. State do-not-call lists, your internal do-not-call list, lists over 1,000 numbers, guest checkout, the free preview and the API are not checked.

DNC.com publishes no price and sells month-to-month subscriptions with online signup. ActiveProspect is pay as you go with a $10 monthly minimum, and its published per-lead and add-on rates put 5,000 numbers at roughly $680. NumberBroom charges $0.20 per number, falling to $0.16 and $0.08 by volume, with no monthly fee, bundling phone validation, activity scoring and litigator checks in a single job -- so teams that scrub in bursts pay nothing between jobs. NumberBroom checks the federal Do Not Call Registry only under your own SAN on lists of up to 1,000 numbers; DNC.com checks it too. Checked against both vendors' sites on 2026-09-18.
